CropShot
Data & privacy
What the game records, how long we keep it, and how to delete it.

This page covers the CropShot game. The Figment Studio privacy policy covers figstu.com.
The short version
CropShot sends us gameplay analytics: which levels you played, how they went, how the game ran on your device.
No account. No email, name, contacts, or location. We don't sell your data, and we don't share what we collect with anyone for their own purposes. The one exception is advertising: if you choose to watch a rewarded video, Google serves it, collects its own data, and personalizes what you see — and you can turn that off. See Ads.
Decline analytics and the game switches to anonymous mode. It still reports how the game is behaving. Nothing links one session to another, or to you.
What we collect
With analytics on
- A device ID. Random, generated on first launch. Not your serial number or advertising ID. It means nothing outside CropShot.
- Gameplay events. Levels started, completed, failed, abandoned. Difficulty, weapons, upgrades, in-game currency, tutorial progress, where enemies got through. Also whether a rewarded ad or store prompt was shown, taken, or dismissed — not what the ad was.
- Device and performance info. Model, OS and version, language, app version, frame timings, crashes.
- Your IP address, in our web server logs, like any web request. It isn't stored with your gameplay data.
In anonymous mode
- A throwaway ID. A new one every launch, never reused. Two sessions can't be connected.
- No IP address. Dropped before it reaches our servers. Never written to our logs.
- Blurred device info. Major OS version only. Language, not region.
- The same gameplay events, with nothing to attach them to.
Purchases
Apple or Google handles payment. We never see your card, billing address, or name.
We receive a receipt and keep a record of it, so we can confirm you own Premium and restore it if you reinstall or switch devices. That record is tied to your store account, not your device ID.
Ads
CropShot offers rewarded video ads: you choose to watch one in exchange for an in-game reward. You are never required to watch an ad, and nothing is shown to you unless you tap to start it.
Those ads come from Google, not from us. To select, show, and measure an ad, Google receives information from your device under its own privacy policy. They are personalized ads: Google may use a device advertising identifier, along with information it already holds about you, to choose which ad to show. That happens inside Google's ad SDK — we don't receive that information and can't see it.
Two different choices are involved here, and they're easy to confuse, so:
- Advertising consent (EEA and UK). If you are in the EEA or the UK, we ask for your advertising consent the first time you launch the game, using Google's User Messaging Platform. Your choice is stored on your device. This version of the game does not include an in-app control for changing that choice afterwards. To change it, reinstall the game: uninstalling clears the stored choice, and the consent form is shown again on next launch.
- Gameplay data. Anonymous gameplay telemetry is separate from advertising consent. It is controlled by the "Share Gameplay Data" toggle on the game's Settings screen, which you can turn on or off at any time. Turning it off also deletes the telemetry held on your device.
Separately from either, your device has its own controls: on iOS, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; on Android, Settings → Google → Ads, where you can turn off ad personalization or reset your advertising ID.
Turning personalization off doesn't remove the ads — you'll still be offered a rewarded video, it just won't be chosen based on you.
What reaches us is only that an ad was offered, started, finished, or failed, and which part of the game it was offered in. We never learn which ad you saw or anything about you from it.
How long we keep it
- Web server logs, including IP: 14 days.
- Raw uploaded gameplay files: 90 days.
- Stored purchase receipts: 400 days.
- Gameplay analytics and purchase records: while the game is running, or until you ask us to delete them.
Deleting your data
Copy your device ID from Settings in the game and submit it on the data deletion page. No account needed. Requests are processed weekly, so there's a window to cancel.
Purchase records are the exception. We're required to keep proof of a transaction, and deleting it would revoke the Premium you paid for. Email support@figstu.com if you want those gone too, and we'll explain what you'd lose first.
Anonymous mode data can't be deleted. There's no identifier to find it by. That's the point of anonymous mode, not a refusal.
Children
CropShot is intended for players aged 13 and over, and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from them.
